I’m a generalist engineer, and I do my best work at early-stage startups.
Wherever I land, I end up at the core of the team, the one who takes the hard, loosely defined work and gets it shipped. At Tern that meant taking over the positioning engine as a proof of concept in 2024 and leading it since. Before that I was an early engineer at Spiff, later acquired by Salesforce, and ran engineering at enroll ml.
Outside work I play adult league hockey and spend as much time as I can with my two sons.

Positioning when GPS is gone
GPS is easy to jam, easy to spoof, and gone in tunnels and cities. Tern’s engine doesn’t use it. It works out where a vehicle is from the vehicle’s own sensors, constrained by maps and terrain, with no signal from outside.
